Janice D. Slayton Guillemette, 84, of Woodsville, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She was born in Woodsville, NH on August 18, 1940 to the late Clement R. and Edna A. (Joslin) Blood. She graduated from Woodsville High School with the class of 1958 and then went on to graduate from Nashua Memorial School of Nursing.
Janice married James S. Slayton on October 28, 1961, and together, for 25 years, they raised three sons. She worked as the Head Nurse at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville where she spent over 30 years caring for others and making a positive difference in people's lives. James "Jim" died in 1987, and Janice married Jon Pierre "Pete" Guillemette on September 4, 1993. They moved to East Hartford, CT where she worked for the VNA and in an adult residential care facility until Pete retired. They then moved to Zephyrhills, FL in 2005, wintering in Florida and summering in Woodsville. They also traveled the country in a recreational vehicle, and enjoyed bicycling, walking, and visiting with neighbors. Janice was always happiest with family and friends around and her laugh was contagious. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and she would do anything for her family. She truly lived life to the fullest.
