Haverhill, NH- Jean T. Drown, 66, formerly of Woodsville, NH passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH after a courageous battle with hemochromatosis and subsequent lung conditions. Jean was a woman full of faith and determination. She showed daily what it meant to love without conditions. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her grandchildren and friends, and she relished a clean house. Jean was the heartbeat of the family who would always meet you with open arms and a kiss. She loved life and being with her family and friends. She will always be in our hearts. Jean was born in Peacham, VT, August 18, 1948, the daughter of John Stanley and Doris Antionnette (Pilotte) Thresher. She attended Peacham Academy and married Harold Richard Drown on September 11, 1965. Jean and Harold lived in Woodsville for many years where they raised their family. She worked for several years as a caregiver for folks in the area. They moved to Raymond, NH in 1997. Recently they returned to the Woodsville area in the fall of 2014 to be closer to family. Jean was most proud of being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of the Woodsville United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by her father, John Stanley Thresher in May 1981 and her mother, Doris Antionnette (Pilotte) Thresher, on June 16, 1996. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Harold Drown of Haverhill, NH; three children, April D. Hackley and husband Patrick of Gilmanton, NH and their two children, Caledonia Callie and Kathleen Katie , Debora A. Herrera and husband Alex of North Haverhill, NH and their four children, Jacqueline, Alejandra Alexa , Stefan, and Cristian, and Eric R. Drown and wife Christine and their children, Logan, Cooper, Emerson, and Walker; two sisters, Dolores Ferrin and husband Ben of Lancaster, CA and Louise Hooker and husband Leon of Monroe, NH; three brothers, Thaddeus Thresher and wife Dyanna of East Concord, VT, Lucien Thresher and wife Jean of Underhill, VT, and Patrick Thresher and wife Kelly of Peacham, VT; a brother-in-law, Ron Drown and wife Carol of Woodsville; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt; a sister-in-law , Ann Amadon Fennell of Thunder Bay, Ontario; and lifelong friends, Guy and Sharon Sanborn of Wentworth, NH and Cheryl Clark of Williamstown, VT. Calling hours will be on Friday, March 6, from 6 to 8 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Saturday, March 7, at 11 AM at the Woodsville United Methodist Church, Maple Street, Woodsville, NH with Rev. Clint Brake officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Swiftwater Road, Woodsville, NH at the convenience of the family, in the spring.
