North Haverhill, NH- Jean Aileen Dunbar, 93, formerly of Monroe, NH, passed away on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at the Grafton County Nursing Home after a period of declining health.

She was born on March 19th, 1930, to Harland and Dorothy (Champagne) Bedell at their home in Monroe, NH, where Jean would spend most of her life.

Jean attended Monroe Grammar School and graduated from McIndoe Academy in 1949. She was a part of the school's band for eight years and orchestra for three. She married Neil G. Dunbar on May 11th, 1949.

Jean had worked for Grafton County Nursing Home for 37 years and loved her job. Jean enjoyed crocheting and was a talented baker, making wedding cakes and baked goods for friends and family.

She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Neil G. Dunbar on June 4th, 2002; and a son, Danny Dunbar in October of 2007; two brothers Harland Bedell and Paul Bedell.

She is survived by three sons; Larry Dunbar, Garry Dunbar, and wife Martha, and Randy Dunbar and wife Barbara; two daughters, Nancy Ilsley and husband David, & Pamela Tetreault and husband Paul; a sister, Gail Gadwah; 21 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

There will be a graveside service at the Monroe Village Cemetery on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Melissa Gould as the funeral celebrant.
