Groton, VT -- Jeanette Terry Houghton, 62, died on Monday, July 7, 2008 at her home on Scott Highway in Groton. She was born in Johnson, South Carolina, September 8, 1945, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha Lee (Pilot) Terry. Jeannette married lifelong husband Bradley E. Houghton, Sr. on February 14, 1973. They moved to Vermont in 1982 after Mr. Houghton retired from the U.S. Army. She worked as an LPN for Wanda s Nursing Home in Bradford, VT and at Brookside Nursing Home in Wilder, VT until 1993. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Bradley E. Houghton, Sr. of Groton, VT; three sons, Charles Thomas and family of Alapaha, GA, Bradley E. Houghton, Jr. and family of Groton, VT and George B. Houghton and family also of Groton, VT; one daughter, Hazel L. Thomas and family of Groton, VT; one step daughter, Linda Lucas and Linda s daughter, Misty Lucas both of Wise, VA; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. There will be calling hours on Thursday, July 10, 2008, from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside service scheduled for July 12th at 11 AM in Groton Village Cemetery has been temporarily postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.
