Obituary

Woodsville, NH – Jeffrey E. Cowell, 62, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was born on September 9, 1961, to Rosalie E. "Nancy" (Raymond) Cowell Partington and William G. Cowell, Sr., in Wareham, MA.

He graduated from Woodsville High School in 1979 and went on to join the Navy and had become a Petty Officer before becoming disabled, and honorably discharged. After the Navy, he returned to Woodsville and attended the University of New Hampshire and received his associate degree in political science.

As a young man, he was very outdoorsy. He loved fishing and snowmobiling. In high school he played all the sports, he was in the drama club, and landed the lead role in South Pacific. He was a Free and Accepted Mason, a member of the American Legion, and overall was very patriotic.

Jeffery's love of sports continued throughout his life, and he enjoyed listening to games, it didn't matter if it was the Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox, or NY Giants. He also really enjoyed music, and some of his favorites were Elton John, Boston, and Styxx.

He loved to make people laugh and loved a good meal.

He was predeceased by both his parents, Rosalie Cowell Partington and William Cowell, Sr., and by a brother, William Cowell, Jr.

He is survived by his sisters Paula Reynolds of Dahlonega, GA, and Prudence Kaiser and husband Stephen of Bath, NH; his nephews, William Cowell and wife Bethany of Woodsville, NH, Joel Cowell of Woodsville, NH, Bradley Reynolds, Jr. and wife Samantha of Lebanon, NH, and Christian Cowell of Springfield, VT; his nieces, Laura Reynolds and fiancé Austin Clouse of Dahlonega, GA, Amy Reynolds of Warren, NH, Samantha Gardner and husband Karl of Groton, VT, Brittany Dodge and husband Jeremy of Bath, NH, and Kaitlynn Lavoie and husband Chris of Celebration, FL; 25 great nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew and a great-great niece.

There will be a graveside service at the Pine Grove Cemetery on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 10 AM with Melissa Gould as Celebrant, with a celebration of life to follow.
