Obituary

Pike, NH- Jeffrey Alan Smith, I, 58 of Oliverian Heights Road, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Cottage Hospital. Jeffrey was born in Quincy, MA, on May 13, 1954, to Alan Charles and Anna (McLeod) Smith. Following high school, he served in the US Navy, then attended New England Tractor Trailer Training School and worked as a commercial truck driver for RSD Leasing in West Lebanon, NH. He also drove school buses for First Student. On September 8, 1972 he married Rose Haddad. Jeffrey belonged to the Sons of the American Legion and the Patriot Guard Riders. He was passionate about his wife, children, grandchildren, his five dogs and his Harley-Davidson, Millie. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Raymond and Marion Knuttenen; his father, Alan Smith; a grandson, David Alan Smith; and his brothers, Nelson Figueiredo, William Hood, Thomas Schofield, Kenny Patrick, and Roger Briscoe. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Rose Smith of Pike; two daughters, Kerry Sorum and husband Christopher and Devon Smith both of Pike; one son, Jeffrey A. Smith, II and wife Kathleen of North Haverhill, NH; six grandchildren, Caitlyn McBride, Christian Page, EmmaLee Rose Smith, Hayley McBride, Noah Smith, and Olivia McBride; three sisters, Susan Howland of Bethlehem, NH, Kathie Howie of Gulf Breeze, FL, Toni Scully of Jefferson City, MO; four brothers, Geno Bellis and Matt Rebello both of Haverhill, NH, Steve Grace of Pike, and Peter Calos of Whitman, MA; his mother, Anna Smith of Bethlehem; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside service will be on Monday, May 13, 2013, at noon in the East Haverhill Cemetery, Pike. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of NH, 814 Elm Street, Suite 300, Manchester, NH 03101.
