Swanton, VT-  Jennifer Dawn Grimsley, 47, died at home, in her sleep, on Thursday, May 21, 2020 following a period of declining health.

Jennifer, or Jenna, as some of her friends called her, was born on June 10, 1972 in Rochester, NY.  She was the daughter of the late Roger Robert Grimsley (May 30, 1985) and the late Charlotte E. (Naylor) Grimsley (May 20, 2010).

At the young age of 7, Jennifer moved with her family to St. Augustine, FL.  This is where she fell in love with the ocean.  At the influential age of 15, the family made the move East, making the peaceful and tranquil town of Monroe, NH their home.

Jennifer attended St. Johnsbury Academy and Woodsville High School, graduating in 1990.  She went on to receive her Liberal Arts Degree from CCV.

Jennifer dedicated her life to helping others.  She was a Victims Advocate.  In recent years, she opened her home to recovering addicts.

Along with her parents, Jennifer was predeceased by her maternal grandmother Dorothy (Naugle) Naylor (April 12, 1995), maternal grandfather Earl Naylor (April 8, 2005), paternal grandfather Ralph Grimsley (January 31, 2005), and paternal step-grandfather James Quick (September 10, 2014).

Jennifer is survived by her sons Josh Hill of Vermont and Devin Hill (Abby) of St. Albans, VT; a sister Jessica Brusseau (Jon) of Monroe, NH and nephews Joseph Rodger (Deanna) and Wyatt Rodger of Monroe, Nathan Brusseau of Maine and a niece Courtney Brusseau of Massachusetts; a brother Marley Grimsley (Kate) and nephews Drew and Jordan of Livonia, NY; her paternal grandmother Arlene Quick of Rochester, NY; an uncle Glen and aunt Karen Grimsley of Rochester; and many cousins.

Jennifer leaves behind her close friends Jake Dufresne, Mike Stella, Bobby Ford, Brynne Cates and Scott and Chrystal Roy.  Jenna had many friends…far too many to list, but she loved them all and considered them to be her extended family.

Due to COVID-19, there will be no services at this time.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
