Jim E.
Mcgoff, Jr
January 1, 2023
Orford, NH – James Earl McGoff, Jr., 66, of Grimes Hill Road, passed from this life to the next on Sunday, January 1, 2023, his final moments were in the comfort of his home.
He was born on October 2, 1956, to his parents Margaret J. (Lamotte) McGoff and James E. McGoff, Sr., in St. Johnsbury, VT; he was one of eleven children.
Jim married Deborah Kenyon in 1979. Together they had four children, he loved his family deeply. James was happy to share his passions with his son. In more recent years while spending time with his grandchildren you could often hear his little granddaughters giggling and James saying, "tickle their toes". He enjoyed spending time with family and friends by taking side by side rides, snowmachining and camping.
He was well known in the area, he owned and operated McGoff's Salvage. He absolutely loved what he did, and never wanted to retire. He and Deborah took a wonderful trip to North Carolina to get his car hauler trailer. A favorite saying of his was "money and progress", in fact he was known for his sayings and liked to come up with his own original sayings, using his fantastic sense of humor to come up with especially interesting ones. He liked to help out at the North Haverhill Fair at the Demo Derby.
James was predeceased by his father, James McGoff.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his son, Johnathan McGoff of Orford, NH; daughter, Ashley McGoff-Clough and husband Shawn of Morrisville, VT; daughter, Katie McGoff-Parent and husband Kyle of Rumney, NH; daughter Casey McGoff of Boston, MA; his mother Margaret J. Gonyer, of Lunenburg, VT, six grandchildren, Lily McGoff, Grace McGoff, Autumn Clough, Caleb Clough, Isla Parent and Avery Parent; three brothers, Paul McGoff, Earl "Pat" McGoff and Doug McGoff; seven sisters, Theresa Taylor, Chris Gulick, Gloria Kenyon, Rita Kenyon, Sylvia Ball, Lilice Shader and Carmen Lieve.
A service for Jim will be on Saturday, January 14th at 10 AM at the Orford Congregation Church with a reception at the church to follow.
