North Haverhill, NH- Joanne K. Applebee, 63, passed away in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023.

Joanne was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 24th, 1960, to William and Florence (Dombi) Smith. She graduated from Connetquot High School in Long Island in 1978.

She married Willis "Willie" Applebee on February 13th, 1982.
She retired from the dietary department at Cottage Hospital in 2020. She always provided a friendly face and delicious healing meals for 22 years there.

In her free time, Joanne enjoyed socializing, going out dancing, cruising to Bermuda, cooking, playing Candy Crush, and cheering on the Washington Redskins. Above all else, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Joanne was predeceased by her mother, Florence "Flo" Smith, August 6, 2000.  She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Willie Applebee of North Haverhill, NH; her father, William N. Smith, Sr; three sons, Shawn Applebee and Sara of Bath, NH; Jamie Applebee and Devin of White River, VT; Stephen Applebee and Jen of Monroe, NH; a daughter, Christina Newell and Alex of Hollis, NH; three brothers, William N. Smith, Jr and Michelle of Rochester, NH, Kenneth Smith of Keene, NH, Richard Smith of North Haverhill; a sister, Rosemary Mangiapane and Joseph of Barnet, VT; 6 grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Joanne Applebee to North Country Home Health and Hospice, 536 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 27th at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville NH from 5 to 7 PM.  A Celebration of Joanne's Life will be Friday, July 28th, at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville at 10 AM, with Melissa Gould as Funeral Celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Center Haverhill Cemetery.
