Groton, VT- Jody Marie Crane, 60, of Powder Spring Road, died at her home, on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.

Jody was born on July 13, 1956, in St. Johnsbury, VT to Francis L. Demuth and Hope G. Kingman.  She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1974. On August 17, 1974, she married Gary D. Crane.

Jody was a postal clerk for a total of 26 years, beginning in Wells River, VT, then in Groton, before retiring after 15 years from the Bradford, VT Post Office.

She enjoyed antique shopping, especially along "antique alley," as Route 4 east of Concord, NH is commonly called.  Locally she shopped at yard sales and Christmas bazaars.  In her spare time, she did cross-stitching and made numerous Christmas stockings.  Jody especially loved family gatherings and being a grandmother, and dancing.

She is predeceased by her mother, Hope G. Norton in 2003; a daughter, Margaret B. Crane in September 1983; and by a sister, Cheryl Densmore in 2001.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Gary D. Crane of Groton; two daughters, Sarah J. Crane of South Ryegate, VT and Lisa M. Pennock and Leon Pennock of Littleton, NH; two grandchildren, Gavin P. Chamberland and Ava M. Pennock; her father, Francis Demuth of Lisbon, NH; a sister, Lindy Gomes and John Cross of St. Albans, VT; a brother, Mark Demuth and Marielle of Johnson, VT; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; along with Gary's family.

Calling hours will be on Monday, August 15 from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 16 at 11 AM at Ricker Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Groton Village Cemetery.
