Obituary

Joshua "Josh" Curtis Mariano Lapham was a caring and devoted Father, Son, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and friend. He passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2022, due to complications associated with COVID. He was 47 years old.

On February 21, 1974, Josh was born in San Salvador, El Salvador. He was adopted at the age of 6 years old. He is survived by his parents Frank Lapham of Wells River Vermont, and Sharon (Harmon) Lapham of Groton, Vermont, his children Selena Lapham and Ariyanna Lapham of Gaston, SC, his 4 year old Son Elijah Lapham and Elijah's Mother Melissa Jerry of Bradford, VT, sister Priya (Lapham) Gore of Needham, MA, sister Tina (Lapham) Weaver & husband Timothy Weaver of Mooresville, NC, brother David Lapham & his fiancé Julia Finnigan of White River Junction, VT, brother Matthew Lapham, of Barton, VT and many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. He was predeceased by his Grandparents George & Helen Lapham of Marstons Mills, MA, and Robert (Bob) and Anne Harmon of Osterville, MA.

Josh grew up on Cape Cod in Marstons Mills, MA and graduated from Barnstable High School class of 1993 and was always playing sports and hanging out with neighborhood friends. He took great pride in being the oldest sibling of 5 always looking out for his younger sisters and brothers and had a very protective demeanor about him when it came to his siblings. In his early 20s Josh moved from the Cape to Vermont to be closer to his immediate family. He had many high-quality skills but his passion was professional painting which he learned from his Grandfather, Robert Harmon of Harmon Painting in Osterville, MA. He took great pride in his recent decision to start his own painting company with the vision of building something he could eventually pass on to his children.

Josh was known for his infectious laugh and smile - his beaming smile was so radiant and beautiful he had crow's feet kissing the corners of his eyes, always finding humor in everything. He was a kind man who enjoyed biking, football, coaching sports, the Beastie Boys, 80s music, and Cape Cod beaches. He truly loved his family, and most of all he loved his 3 children with all his heart.

A celebration of life memorial will be planned for the spring/summertime to honor Joshua. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the GoFundMe the family has set up for the benefit of his children and their future needs. https://gofund.me/4b096daf
