Groton, VT- Karen Marie Gordon, 42, of Cliffs Hill Road, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, August 12, 2011. Karen was born in Haverhill, NH, on September 30, 1968, to Harry and Mary (Grimes) Woods. She was a graduate of Woodsville High School, Class of 1986. Karen began working at the Grafton County Nursing Home in 1988. In 2005, she completed the LPN course offered at the County Home, and continued working there as an LPN. She was a very conscientious worker who loved her job at Grafton! Karen married Michael P. Gordon on September 7, 1991. She enjoyed the coast of Maine, lighthouses, and her basket collection. She was an avid fan of her sons sports teams and attended all of their basketball, baseball, and soccer games. She had a deep appreciation for nature and wildlife. Mostly, Karen treasured her moments at home curled up with a good book and a good cup of coffee. She is survived by her husband of almost twenty years, Mike Gordon of Groton; their two sons, Chris and Nick both of Groton; her mother Mary Gajewski and husband Paul of Piedmont, MO; her father Harry Woods and wife Beth of Bath, NH; her brother Ed and wife Karen and their son, Justin, of North Haverhill, NH; her paternal grandmother, Florence Woods of Bath; her mother-in-law, Florence Gordon of Wells River, VT; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 16th from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 17th at 1 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, with Rev. Lyn Winter, officiating. Burial will follow in the Groton Village Cemetery.
