Karen L. Proulx, 60, Landaff, NH, passed away at her home on Thursday March 28, 2024, with family at her side.  She was born in Barre, VT on October 21, 1963, to Dale A. and Ruth E. (Cushing) Fifield.

She graduated from Blue Mountain Union School and went on to cosmetology school.  Finding work as a hairdresser she eventually retired as co-owner of Onion River Clippers Hair Salon in Winooski, VT. Karen then moved back home to be closer to her family and became an employee of Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank until her passing.

Karen enjoyed arts and crafts and was a talented painter.  She enjoyed using her artistic eye to add beauty to her house and truly made her house into a home.  She liked spending time in nature, especially fishing.  Vacations with her family held a special place in her heart, and she couldn't pass up a trip to Las Vegas to try her luck at the slots.  Karen was diligent about keeping in touch with friends and family, frequently texting and calling to check in.

She is predeceased by her parents and a brother, Joseph Cushing.  She is survived by three brothers, Ed Fifield and his wife Joyce of Newbury, VT, Alan Fifield and his wife Rose of Wells River, VT, and Gary Fifield and his wife Carrie, of Landaff, NH; two sisters, Donna Davis and her husband Kurt of North Haverhill, NH, Jen Martel and her husband Joe of Woodsville, NH; a special cousin Theresa Jesseman who was her "sista from another mista"; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Karen's Life is being planned for later this year and will be announced.
