Bath, NH - Katherine Ann Lokitis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at the Jack Byrne Palliative and Hospice Care Center in Lebanon, NH.
Katherine was born on February 26, 1945, in Norwood, MA to Joseph Lokitis and Mary (Ivoskus) Lokitis. She was the seventh child in a family of ten. Her early years were spent in Norton, MA where together with her siblings, she attended and graduated from Norton High School.
Katherine's entrepreneurial spirit led her to West Palm Beach, FL, where she obtained her license to be an aesthetician. She established her own successful business and lived there for many years.
Katherine's faith in Jesus Christ was the motivating factor in her life. She became a parishioner of St Joseph's and St Catherine's parish on relocating from Florida to Bath more than two decades ago. Her devotion to the traditional church service in Latin and adherence to the teachings of her Catholic faith were the cornerstone of her life.
An ardent animal lover, Katherine rescued and cared for dozens of abandoned cats over the years. Her beloved cats were her family, and they were showered with love and attention.
She is survived by her five sisters, Joan Borowitz of Belchertown, MA, Mary Wray of Virginia Beach, VA, Leone Skamarakas of New Bern, NC, Diane Morse of N. Attleboro, MA, Marianne Lokitis of New Bedford, MA and her sole surviving brother, Michael Lokitis of Norton, MA. She is survived also by many much-loved nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Lokitis and David Lokitis, and her sister Rose Lokitis.
Funeral services are to be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Woodsville on Friday, July 12th at 1:00 pm. There will be a private burial.
