Bath, NH- Keith Wendell Estes, 56, of West Bath Road, died on December 4, 2009, at Cottage Hosptial, Woodsville, NH, after a lengthy illness. Keith was born in Waltham, MA, on January 25, 1953, to Wendell Ernest and Beverly Margaret (Lewis) Estes. Keith was a 1972 graduate of Woodsville High School. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1972 -1975, then enlisted in the US Navy and served from early 1976 until his discharge in 1978. Keith formerly worked at HG Woods in Bath, then went to work at the VA Hospital in White River Junction, VT in the maintenance department. He later transferred to the White River Post Office and also worked in maintenance. Keith was a passionate Red Sox fan. He was an avid walker and enjoyed watching old movies, sports and reading about history. Recently he had been attending the Grace Assembly of God in Woodsville. He is survived by his parents Wendell and Beverly Estes of Bath, his brother Dana Estes and wife Vicky, and sister Jody Youngman and husband Gary, all of Bath; two nieces, two nephews, six great nieces, three great nephews, two aunts, an uncle and several cousins. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 2 PM with an hour of calling time prior to the service, from 1-2 PM, at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. Pastor Bruce Lee from the Grace Assembly of God will officiate. Burial will be in the Bath Village Cemetery.
