Manchester, NH Kenneth W. Cota, 97, formerly of North Haverhill, died March 15, 2008 at Hanover Hills Healthcare in Manchester. Ken was born in Waitsfield, VT, June 23, 1910, a son of George and Bessie (Boyce) Cota and was a graduate of Waitsfield High School. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was discharged as a Master Sergeant. He married Esther Young on February 29, 1930, and from 1933 to 1939 they owned and operated the Waitsfield General Store and from 1939 to 1941 they owned the former Toy Town store in Montpelier, VT. The Cota family moved to North Haverhill, NH in 1947, where they owned and operated Cota s General Store until 1956. He went on to become the Superintendent of the Grafton County Complex in North Haverhill, and later ran Cota s Trailer Park in Center Haverhill in the late 1970 s and 1980 s. He was predeceased by his wife Esther (Young) Cota on January 8, 1997. Survivors include a daughter Rae Marie Bruce and husband Rev. Ralph Bruce of Merrimack, NH; a son David Cota and wife Gloria of Sanford, NC; six grandchildren Kenneth Stewart, Dr. Heather Stewart, David Bruce, Donna Berube, Michael Cota, and Tammy Taylor; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters Geneva Mandanici, Marcella James and a brother Paul Cota. A calling hour will be on Monday, March 24th, from 10 to 11 AM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH, with the funeral service at 11 AM at the funeral home, the Rev. Vadia Boudreau of the North Haverhill United Methodist Church officiating. Burial in Center Haverhill Cemetery will be later in the spring.
