Obituary

Kevin Ricker, 62, of Orford passed away Sunday, January 29th, 2023, surrounded by his family at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. Kevin was born December 8th, 1960, to Lawrence and Beverly Ricker (Record). The youngest of five, Kevin grew up tagging along whenever he could with his siblings and causing lots of mischief along the way. If you knew Kevin, you know shenanigans and antics seemed to be a common thread. After high school Kevin traveled around doing construction jobs in Florida and Michigan. In 1980 he married his first wife, Kelly Barber and joined the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Campbell Kentucky until his daughter, Ashley was born. In September of 1987 Kevin married Suzanne Ricker (Bouley) and together they welcomed another daughter, Kendra to the family. Kevin and Suzanne started K&R Portable Toilets and built it into a successful Upper Valley business. When not working at K&R you could find Kevin cheering on the Red Sox, or on a Sunday afternoon grilling and cheering on Bill Elliott (also known as yelling at the TV because of course they could hear him). Kevin loved people and would strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. Kevin was famous for his funny sayings, and he granted everyone at least one nickname. He was most proud of his family, especially later in his life when he became a grandfather (Poppy) to Camden and Bowen. Cam and Bowen were lucky enough to hear many life lessons while driving the Kubota all over Dame hill, fishing in Horton's Pond, and tooling about over Indian Pond Road, and of course he couldn't go back roading without pumping the kids full of sugar.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 35 years Suzanne Ricker of Orford, daughters Ashley Ricker (Shane Clawson) of Piermont, Kendra Ricker of Orford, two grandchildren Camden and Bowen Clawson, his mother Beverly Ricker of Hanover, siblings Keith Ricker (Susan) of Scottsdale, AZ, Diana Newton of Gilbert AZ, Jody Mace (John) of Orford, five nephews and three nieces, and his two dogs Dixie and Cash. Kevin was predeceased by his father Lawrence Ricker (2012), and sister Darlene Romano (2016).

How do you summarize the life of someone who meant the world to you, someone who raised you, always had your back, someone who will always be your best bud, you simply cannot. Gone too soon, never forgotten, always loved. Raise your glasses to our hero, husband, son, best friend, brother, and Dad. A small celebration of life will be held in the spring.
