Laraine (Freidhof) King, 69, of Woodsville, passed away suddenly at her home on Aug. 20, 2022.

She was born in Cresson, PA on Jan. 22, 1953; the daughter of Paul and Leona (Conrad) Freidhof.  She graduated from Penn Cambria High School in 1970.

Laraine married Kenneth King in August 1983. They moved to Boxborough, MA where they raised two children, Jennifer and Brian.  She was an avid member of the PTO, the Public Celebrations & Ceremonies Committee, and the Historical Society.  She was at every school fundraiser and town parade, always volunteering her time and energetic spirit.  If there was something happening in town, Laraine was there and leading the charge.

She worked as a Business Manager for Dolphin Interconnect Solutions and was instrumental in moving the business from Massachusetts to New Hampshire, where she retired.

Laraine was an important part of the Mountain Lakes community beginning in the mid 1990's as part of the Mountain Lakes Community Association.  As she continued to spend more time in the Woodsville area, she also became a member of the Cottage Hospital Auxiliary and local book groups.  She was a weekly volunteer at the Good Shepard Ecumenical Food Bank.

In her spare time, Laraine enjoyed cooking, reading, needlework, and quilting.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially at the beach.

Laraine was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Leona Freidhof; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth King; daughter Jennifer Loutrel and husband Louis Loutrel of Lancaster, MA; son Brian King and wife Courtney Levitsky of Everett, WA; three grandchildren, Jaxon, Madison, and Molly Loutrel of Lancaster MA; 5 siblings, James Freidhof of Burlington, VT, Paul Freidhof of Belefont, PA, Barry Freidhof of Canton, GA, Alan Friedhof of South Pueblo, CO, and Janis Paul of Pittsburgh, PA; along with many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

There will be no calling hours.

A service will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 3 Church Street Woodsville on Saturday, August 27 at 10am.

A celebration of life will follow at the Mountain Lakes Beach, 75 White Mountain Road Woodsville.  Everyone is welcome to join Laraine's friends and family to share a memory.
