Topsham, VT-  Lawrence Rupert Ricker, 66, of Powder Spring Road, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH.

Lawrence was born in East Topsham, VT on December 11, 1949, to Rupert H. and Doris (Keenan) Ricker.  In June 1968, he graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade School.  Following his graduation, he entered the US Army and was assigned to Battery A, 5th    Battalion, 4th Artillery of the 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized) in the Quang Tri area of Vietnam.  He received the Bronze Star for his actions.

Upon his honorable discharge, Lawrence returned to the area and worked as a mechanic for Mardin Industries in Lyndonville, VT and for Huntington Homes in Barre, VT.  He was also employed by Bradford Veneer before retiring from DCI in Lisbon, NH.

Lawrence loved tinkering and doing auto mechanic work on his vehicles and tractors.  He enjoyed watching wildlife around his home and hunting.

He was predeceased by his parents Doris Keenan Ricker on February 7, 1991 and Rupert Ricker on September 5, 1996, and by two sisters, Priscilla Ricker in November 11, 1997 and Doris E. Frigon on November 28, 2014.

He is survived by two sisters, Gracelyn Blaise of Orange, VT and his twin, Lillian Olsen of East Corinth, VT; two brothers, Harvey Ricker of South Ryegate, VT and Roderic Ricker of White River Junction, VT; a brother-in-law, Michael Frigon of Barre; an aunt, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be in the Groton Village Cemetery, Groton, VT, on Saturday, September 24 at 11 AM.
