Bath, NH – Lee Arthur Gillheeney, 58, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his mother and brother, whom he loved, on Sunday, February 11, 2024. He was born on December 24, 1965, in Landstuhl, Germany, to his parents Phyllis (Hein) Melanson and Richard Gillheeney.

After graduating high school, Lee joined the Coast Guard to spend time with his biggest love, the ocean, and was with the Coast Guard saving lives for 8 years. The ocean was his everything, he spent lots of time fishing with friends. He caught tuna, sharks, strippers and through that love of the ocean, found a job in Aquaculture and grew clams and oysters. Lee also raised lobsters, and crabs.

He will be remembered by his son, Marc Shane Gillheeney of Connecticut; his mother Phyllis Melanson of Newbury, VT; his brother Shane Aaron Gillheeney of Providence, RI; and his special friends Ed Bridgeman and Arturo Valdez.

He was predeceased by an infant sister, Lynn Mara Gillheeney.

Per Lee's wishes he is to be buried with his biggest idols, John Joseph Hein and Alphena Anna Hein in Exter, RI. The services will be announced at a later date.
