Linda Burroughs Farquharson, 72, of Groton, Vermont passed away at home on Wednesday, April 21, 2022. She was born in Woodsville, NH on August 24, 1949. Linda was a graduate of Newbury High School class of 1967. Linda spent many years raising her children, working as a nursing assistant, and milking her cows at Pine Mountain View Farm. Linda was a proud member of the Cabot Creamery Cooperative, Agrimark.

Linda was predeceased by her parents William and Bertha Burroughs of Newbury, VT, and her beloved youngest daughter, Andrea R. Emerson of Groton, VT. Linda is survived by her husband Robert S. Farquharson, her children Barry (Kristin) Emerson, of Topsham, Philip (Stacy) Emerson, of Topsham, and Alison Emerson, of Burlington, VT.  She leaves eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Mary Lou Boyce, Jean (Ronald) Welch, and Susan Burroughs, and brothers, William (Bonnie) Burroughs and Leonard (Susan) Burroughs. In addition, she leaves Robert's children Scott (Karen) Farquharson, of S. Ryegate, Corey (Lynn) Farquharson, of S. Ryegate, Heidi (Jason) Jones, of San Diego CA, Diane Farquharson (Jerry), of Ryegate, Kristin Farquharson, of Ryegate, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Linda was an animal lover, particularly fond of beagles, jersey cows, and tom-cats. Linda liked to crochet and knit (especially for her great-grandchildren), she was an avid reader of mysteries, she loved watching old westerns, and of course, listening to country music. She enjoyed seeing her grandkids play sports and she was very proud of their academic achievements. From early spring to (fingers crossed) October, Linda could be found watching or listening to the Red Sox.

As one of her favorite recording artists, Vince Gill, sings, we wish for our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to "Go rest high on that mountain, her work here on earth is done."

Calling hours will be held at Ricker Funeral Home on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5-7 pm.

A graveside service will be held at the Groton cemetery on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter or animal rescue of your choice.
