Plymouth, NH- Lois Irene (Yeaton) Ireland, 85, of Yeaton Road, died at her home on Sunday, January 17, 2010, following a lengthy struggle with Parkinson s Disease. Lois was born on October 9, 1924 in St. Johnsbury Center, VT, a daughter of Roscoe S. Joe and Doris E. (Wallace) Yeaton. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and graduated from Plymouth Teacher s College in 1946. She taught at Dow Academy in Franconia, NH and at Goffstown High School. After her marriage to Chester R. Ireland on January 30, 1949, she was a homemaker and also became the bookkeeper for Ireland Lumber Company. Lois was a charter member of the Baker River Bible Church in Wentworth, NH. She enjoyed homemaking, particularly cooking and sewing. She was predeceased by two children: Timothy Ireland in 1982 and Laurie Ireland in 1997 and by a brother, Phillip Yeaton, in 2002. She is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Chester R. Ireland; two children, Sara Tatham and husband Steve, and Chester Mike Ireland and wife Jackie, all of Plymouth; five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie Farnsworth of West Lebanon, NH, Doris Evans of Haverhill, NH, and Joanne Burns of Bedford, NH; a brother, Dean Yeaton of Plymouth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service in the spring will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth. Pastor Bruce Michaud of the Baker River Bible Church will officiate.
