Obituary

North Haverhill, NH- Lorayne Marjorie Tetreault, 71, of Dartmouth College Highway, died at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH, on August 24, 2008, after a long illness. She was born in Haverhill, NH, on February 7, 1937, to Ralph E. and Arlene M. (Sandstrom) Simmons, Sr. She graduated from Wells River High School. Lorayne married Paul A. Tetreault on October 26, 1957. She worked at the Grafton County Nursing Home as a dietary aide for 17 years, retiring in 1999. Lorayne was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodsville. Along with tending to her flower garden and houseplants, she spent her time reading and knitting mittens. She was a lover of animals, traveling, and dancing. Family, her children and grandchildren were a very important part of her life. She was predeceased by her father, Ralph Simmons, Sr. on June 9,1951; her mother on November 5, 2007; two grandsons, Taylor and Timothy Tetreault, both on July 6, 2003, two sisters, Rachel A. Bishop and Eleanor Bowles; and two brothers, Roger Simmons and Charles Simmons. She is survived by her husband, Paul A. Tetreault, Sr. of North Haverhill; her children Paul A. Tetreault, Jr. and wife Pam of North Haverhill, Teresa Puffer and husband Stephen of Woodsville, NH, Marie Marvin and husband Bernie of South Berwick, ME, and Stuart A. Tetreault of North Haverhill; a sister, Ruth S. Pike of Haverhill, NH; a brother Ralph E. Simmons, Jr. of Waterbury, VT; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two uncles and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 from 7-9 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A prayer service will be held at 8:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, August 28, at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, with Father Daniel J. Sinibaldi, officiating. Burial will follow in Horsemeadow Cemetery, North Haverhill.
