Ryegate, VT – Louis Brugliera, Jr., died at the Jack Byrne Center on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 85. He was born in Brockton, MA on September 16, 1938; his parents were Josephine (Tribulauskas) and Louis Brugliera, Sr.
Louis and his two brothers, Raymond and Joseph, were raised in Mansfield, MA. He graduated from Boston Trade School in 1959, he worked for himself and his family. He volunteered for the Norton Rescue Squad and enjoyed the civil service so much that in 1966 he joined the Norton Police Department. He retired in 1986 as a Detective Sergeant.
He married Catherine (Morison) and they had two sons. They moved up to Ryegate, VT and built a home there. Louis and his wife loved to hunt for bargains and would frequent flea markets to find a great deal, then turn around and resell those items at other flea markets until they discovered eBay. He and his wife also loved to travel. After retirement, Louis took on a different civil service job, as a school bus driver for BMU. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norton, MA, and at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Woodsville, NH.
Louis was predeceased by his wife Catherine Brugliera on October 6, 2022; his parents; and his brother Raymond Brugliera.
He will be remembered by his son John Brugliera of West Lebanon; his son Robert Brugliera and wife Jennifer of Williamsburg, VA; and two grandchildren, Jacqueline and Timothy.
Calling hours for Louis will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 11 AM – 12 PM at Ricker Funeral Home in Woodsville. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 PM in the Blue Mountain Cemetery of Ryegate, with Father Arockia presiding over the internment.
