Piermont, NH Louis Edward Hobbs, 90, a former longtime Piermont resident, died on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Woodridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Berlin, VT. Lou was born in Haverhill, NH on January 10, 1922, a son of Edward G. and Lois (Rogers) Hobbs. Lou served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany as a Military Police officer. After returning home, he worked for the Jacobs Family for 33 years at the former Lake Tarleton Resort in Piermont. He later worked for 25 years in the Piermont Post Office. He served the Town as a member of the Piermont Planning Board for 20 years, Supervisor of the Checklist and trustee of the town trust funds and Piermont Cemetery Commissioner. He was also a member of the Ross Wood American Legion Post #20 of Woodsville, NH. He married Eunice V. Sanborn on December 5, 1947 and she predeceased him on July 20, 2003, by a daughter Lovena L. Royolsky, by two sisters Bertha White and Emma Hobbs, and by four brothers, his twin Leon, John, Arthur and Dennis. Survivors include one daughter, Jacquelynn Blake of Barre, VT, and two sons, Edward L. Hobbs of Scottsvale, VA and Michael Hobbs of Fairlee, VT, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside committal service will be in the Horse Meadow Cemetery, North Haverhill, NH on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11 AM.
