Lowell F.
Fisher
May 2, 1937 – November 16, 2017
North Haverhill, NH – Lowell Francis Fisher, 80 years young, passed away at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, on Thursday, November 16, 2017, with the Love of his Life Diane L. Lagarto steadfast and lovingly by his side.
Lowell was born in Danbury, CT, May 2, 1937, to Margaret (Benedict) and Lowell Fisher. He was later raised by his mother Margaret and his stepfather Ralph Webber.
As a young man Lowell served his country in the Army, 101st Airborne Rangers as a K-9 handler, and completed two tours of duty in the Vietnam War.
As an adult Lowell lived in New Milford, CT where he raised his two boys, Camden and Chris. He was a Boy Scout leader for 50 years, was an Eagle Scout himself, and helped his boys become Eagle Scouts. He ran his own business there as well.
For the last 24 years Lowell has worked for the Home Depot, with most of those years in Connecticut. When Lowell moved to New Hampshire in 2009, he worked one year in the West Lebanon Home Depot before transferring to the Littleton store where he worked for the last seven years of his life. Lowell was still working there in May 2017. He also worked a second job a couple years ago as a projectionist and ticket sales at Jax Jr. Theater in Littleton on the weekends.
Lowell loved his 2003 Harley Sportster, NASCAR races, camping, travel, ice cream, black licorice, and being with Diane and her son Geremy Enboden. He enjoyed teaching the kids workshops at Home Depot on Saturday's in the Danbury, CT store. It is there where he first met Geremy, and Diane's mom, while Diane, a fellow employee, worked as a kitchen designer.
Lowell was predeceased by his mother Margaret (Benedict) Webber, stepfather Ralph Webber, and father Lowell Fisher.
Lowell is survived by his children, Lowell F. Fisher, Margaret Fisher, E. Camden Fisher and Christopher Fisher, along with several grandchildren, as well as, his longtime companion Diane Lagarto, and children Amber Billings and Geremy Enboden.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, at 11 AM, in the North Haverhill United Methodist Church, 2900 Dartmouth College Highway, North Haverhill, NH, with Pastor Clint Brake officiating. A committal service will follow at the Horse Meadow Annex Cemetery with Military Honors. Following the committal all are invited back to the church for fellowship, food, and refreshment, and sharing of Lowell's life.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lowell's honor to his favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Diane and Geremy wish to thank the Veterans Administration Hospital, White River Jct, VT, for the outstanding care and friendships made there. Also thanks are extended to the Littleton VA Clinic and the Grafton County Nursing Home, although his stay there was very short. The care he received in his final days was above and beyond all expectations we anticipated.
