Marcia Gay Lackie, 92, of North Haverhill, died at her home on January 8, 2025. She was born in Bloomfield, VT on July 3, 1932, to Arthur and Edna (Fuller) Gay. She graduated from Haverhill Academy with the class of 1950. She married Leslie W. Lackie on Christmas Day 1952.
Marcia was a lifelong Haverhill resident. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and caregiver. She worked at Bear Ridge Speedway for many years as a scorer and was inducted into the Bear Ridge Speedway Hall of Fame in 2019.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Haverhill where she taught Sunday school, served as church secretary and communion steward in previous years. She was also a member of the Connecticut Valley Snowmobile Club, SHARE food program volunteer, and substitute teacher at the Woodsville Elementary School.After Leslie's passing Marcia started selling Christmas Around the World earning herself several worldwide trips. Marcia enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, romance novel reading, crocheting, needlepoint, search a word puzzles and arts & crafts.
She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Leslie W. Lackie Sr. in 1989; a son Leslie W Lackie Jr. in 1975; parents Arthur & Edna Gay; siblings Emily Brooks, Beverly Lovan, and Willis Gay.
Survivors include; sons, David Lackie and wife Leslie, Norman "Smiley" Lackie and friend Donna; daughters, Janet Moulton, Nancy "Pipsy" Lackie and partner Shawn Carpenter, all of North Haverhill; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12 to 1:30, concluded with a service at 1:30 with Melissa Gould as Celebrant, at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St. Woodsville. Interment will be held privately in the spring.
