Obituary

Woodsville, NH- Margaret Ethel Fullerton, 101, of Swiftwater Road, died on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Cottage Hospital with her family by her side.

Ethel was born on July 23, 1919, in Hopewell, Nova Scotia to Daniel and Jessie (Fraser) MacLean.  Raised in Saskatchewan, she came to the United States in 1938 to visit her sister Katherine and never left.

Ethel met her husband John on the Woodsville Covered Bridge and they married on March 20, 1940.  Together they had eight children.  She and John built and operated the Woodsville Motel and The White Mountain Profile Motel.  Ethel enjoyed crocheting afghans and potholders for family and friends.  She rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy and enjoyed bird watching.  She was an elegant and beautiful person who loved life.

She is predeceased by her husband, John Fullerton; a daughter, Maureen Fullerton; a son William Fullerton and eleven of her siblings.

She is survived by her four sons, John Fullerton of Woodsville, NH, Dale Fullerton and wife Patti of Bath, NH, Richard Fullerton of Lyons OR, Ronald Fullerton and wife Joanne of Woodsville, NH; two daughters, Peg Fullerton and partner Kevin Fagnant of Piermont, NH, and Sherry Fullerton of North Haverhill, NH; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.

Per Ethel's request there will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service held at Ricker Funeral Home and Cremation Care on Friday July 2, 2021, at 10AM followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery.
