Piermont, NH- Margery Manning, 87, formerly of Brook Road died on June 2, 2010, at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH. Margery was born in Piermont on April 2, 1923, to Fay Sargent and Gladys (Chesley) Emery. She was a graduate of the Orford Academy. After high school she was employed at the Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, VT as a switch board operator. While working there she met her future husband, Robert D. Manning. She worked as an occupational therapy technician at the East Liverpool Extended Care Facility in East Liverpool, Ohio. She also was a seamstress doing alterations for many years. She lived in Ohio and West Virginia prior to returning to Piermont in 1981. She enjoyed summer gardening and spent many hours compiling an Emery family genealogy. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Douglas Manning on January 15, 1991; her son, George Manning in November 2007; and by her four sisters, Christie E. Emery, Erma Kurtz, Bernice Pierson on April 19, 2008, and Velma Holden on September 11, 2009. She is survived by her children, Peter Manning and his wife Becky of Chester, WV, Gregory Manning of Charden, OH, and Christie Manning of Orford, NH; two nieces, Susan Holden and Sandra Knapp both of Haverhill, NH and one nephew, Stanley Toot Holden, Jr. of Haverhill, NH. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Thursday, June 10th at 11 AM at the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Piermont, NH, with Pastor John Hartley from Thetford Baptist Church, officiating.
