Obituary

St. Johnsbury, VT Marian Gertrude Fallaw, 86, of 156 Pearl Street, died January 7, 2010 at The Pines in Lyndonville, VT. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ, June 2, 1923, the daughter of Arthur T. and Helen E. (Thomas) Cross. Marian attended Trinity Grade School in Westfield, NJ and graduated from Union High School, Union NJ. She trained at Colt Memorial Hospital in Newark, NJ. She served as a Sergeant with the U.S. Army as a nurse. She served from March 1945 until her discharge in June 1946. She worked as a pediatric nurse for many years in New Jersey, retiring in 1979. For many years she lived in Lady Lake, FL and moved to Vermont in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Joseph s Catholic Church, Woodsville, NH. Marian was a member of the American Legion Post #30 in Lyndonville, VT. Marian was married to Frontis T. Fallaw who predeceased her on April 1, 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Annmarie Aiken of Sheffield, VT, and Lisa E. Arnold of Port Orange, FL; two sons, Frontis A. Fallaw of Beachwood, NJ, and Michael T. Fallaw of S. Wheelock, VT; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Charles R. Cross of Apache Jct, AZ; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Friday, January 15 from 1 to 3 PM, at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch St. Woodsville, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 16 at 11 AM, at the St. Joseph s Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, NH with Father Jeffrey Statz officiating. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph s Catholic Church, 21 Pine Street, Woodsville, NH 03785.
