Marie Elaine Fadden Lovell, 79, of North Haverhill passed away peacefully at Grafton County Nursing Home on Tuesday, July 2nd, with her sister Sue and sister-in-law Shirley at her side. Prior to her passing, Marie had enjoyed numerous visits from family and friends at the nursing home, where she had been lovingly cared for over the past few months.

Marie was born on July 21, 1944, in Haverhill, NH to Edna and Stanley Fadden. Marie was married to Larry McLain, Sr. for 27 years, and together they raised their daughter and 4 sons. Later in life, Marie married John Lovell, Sr., and spent 27 years traveling to Alaska for the summer months, where she worked her way up to the lead secretary position for Yutana Barge Lines. In her years working there she took in every young kid who was away from home working on the tugboats and gave them advice - and sometimes that kick in the britches that is often needed! Marie and John spent their winters in Vermont, where Marie enjoyed hosting gatherings for their many family and friends. Always the life of the party, Marie loved music, dancing, and spending time with her loved ones.

Before moving back to North Haverhill, Marie spent 6 years living in Dobson, North Carolina with her son Matt and his wife Jennifer. Although missing her northern family constantly, she loved living in NC and being taken care of by Matt, Jen and her wonderful friend Sherry. She also enjoyed love and cuddles from her grand-dog Bug and grand-cat Howie.

Marie was always up for a game of marbles, cribbage or rummy and loved working on puzzles every day. She also loved the game show network - Steve Harvey kept her laughing every night. She enjoyed visits from neighborhood friends, sharing a meal and joking around with them.

Marie loved her church! She would attend in person until she was no longer able, and then she would attend on Facebook from home after that. Pastor Jeff would come to the house and comfort her in difficult times; we will be ever grateful for that.

Marie is survived by; her ex-husband John Lovell, Sr.; her children, son Larry McLain, Jr. and wife Diane, son Mac McLain and wife Dorothy, daughter Cindy Lasman, son Bud McLain and life partner Christy Tendler Renes, son Matt McLain and wife Jennifer; her sister Sue Lang and husband Ted; her grandchildren: Christopher McLain, Brenda Hastie, Barbara Bunnell, Denise Bishop, James McLain, Laura Lynn Cross, Robert McLain, and Trevor McLain, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Marie is pre-deceased by; her mom Edna Fadden, her dad Stanley Fadden; her siblings, brother Stub Fadden, brother Richard Fadden, brother Joe Fadden, and her sister Madie Fadden.

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, July 26th from 5 to 7 pm at Ricker Funeral Home, and a graveside ceremony at Horse Meadow Cemetery on Saturday, July 27th at 10 am. Following the graveside ceremony, there will be a gathering for family and friends, at River Meadow Campground in North Haverhill.
