East Ryegate, VT Marie Theresa (Stevens) Williams, 88, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at her home. She was born in Peru, MA, November 28, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Mable (Coles) Stevens. Theresa married Paul E. Williams on May 28, 1949. She worked for Eaton Paper Corp in Pittsfield, MA making books. They moved to Vermont in 1987. Theresa was a member of the So-Ed Dance Club in Pittsfield, MA, and the Moose Lodge #1779 and Elks Lodge #1343 both in St. Johnsbury, VT, and was a communicant of St. Joseph s Catholic Church. She loved animals and when she was young, she would play dress-up with her animals. She also enjoyed gardening, handwork, sewing and painting. Baking and decorating cakes for her family on their special occasions was a treat for her. Theresa and Paul spent many hours at the Horse Meadow Senior Center, teaching others to line dance and they traveled around the area attending dances. Theresa and Paul were impeccable dressers and could always be seen together attending dances, church, or out in the public as a cute little couple. She was predeceased by three sisters, Lillian Newton, Mary White, and Edith Zurrin; and a brother, James Stevens. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Paul E. Williams of East Ryegate; a daughter, Marie Gregory and companion Stephen Huff of Bradford, VT; three grandchildren, Shilo Gregory and Ivy, Lynnette Knapp and Corey, and Yvette Koslowsky and Frank; four great grandchildren, Zachary and Noell Koslowsky and Tenley and Jacob Knapp; several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, January 4, at 11 AM at the St. Joseph s Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, with Father Jeffrey Statz, Celebrant. Burial will be in the spring at the St. Joseph s Catholic Cemetery, Bath, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Horse Meadow Senior Center, 91 Horsemeadow Road, North Haverhill, NH 03774.
