Marilyn Jean Martin age 80 and a resident of Haverhill, NH passed away on May 18, 2010 at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. Born January 3, 1930 to the late Fred and Mary (Clarke) Ganshaw she resided in the Western New York area. She married Norman W. Martin in 1948 and raised her family in Gasport, NY. Marilyn was employed for many years in the Social Services Department of Hilltop Nursing Home also located in Gasport, NY. She enjoyed camping and sailing with her family on the Great Lakes and renovated a summer cottage on Lake Ontario with her husband Norman. She and Norman retired to Haverhill, NH, and immersed themselves in the restoration of a home there. Gardening, antiques and her pets were a particular source of pleasure. Winters were spent touring the South in their motor home. She was predeceased by her brother Fred in 2000 and her husband Norman in 1999. Marilyn and Norman were married for nearly 50 yrs. She is survived by three sons; Jeffrey W. Martin of E. Corinth, Vt., Scott T. Martin of Newbury, Vt. and Timothy M. Martin of Ringoes, NJ. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren. Service will be at graveside in Horsemeadow Cemetery N. Haverhill, NH. on May 27, 2010 at 3 PM. There will be no calling hours. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
