Wells River, VT-  Marilyn June Wheeler, 83, of Grove Street, died at her home on Thursday, May 16, 2019, following a period of failing health.

Marilyn was born in Hanover, NH on April 10, 1936, to Freeman and Elnah (Runnels) Placey.  She was a graduate of Newbury (VT) High School.  On May 30, 1956, she married Robert P. Wheeler.

A lifelong resident of Wells River and Newbury, Marilyn was an active member and volunteer of the Wells River Congregational Church, UCC and their Women's Fellowship.  She also belonged to the Newbury Alumni Association.  She enjoyed cooking, canning, and pickling.  Most of all, Marilyn cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Robert P. Wheeler of Wells River; two sons, Terry Wheeler of Newbury and Kevin Wheeler and wife Jacquelyn of Missouri; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a brother, David Placey and wife Eleanor of Newbury; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A private family service will be held in the Oxbow Cemetery.
