South Ryegate, VT Marion Virginia Elliott, 93, died on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. Marian was born in Marshfield, VT, April 16, 1919, the daughter of Clarence E. and Violet G. (Lee) Phelps. Marion married Chester H. Elliott. She worked for 18 years at Cottage Hospital as an Operating Room Technician. She enjoyed her flower gardens, cooking, and her home. Marion loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a former member of the Nurses Association. She was predeceased by her husband Chester H. Elliott on September 4, 1998; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Phelps and Pearl Morrison; four brothers, Durwood Phelps, Gordon Phelps, Raymond Phelps, and Donald Phelps. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Mae Elliott of Contoocook, NH and Sharon Virginia Rogers and husband Steven of West Newbury, VT; 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Tuesday, January 8th, at 2 PM, at the South Ryegate Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. M. Catherine Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Pinehurst Cemetery in the spring.
