Obituary

Woodsville, NH-  Marion McKinnon (Pickles) Wilcox, 92, of South Court Street, died following a period of declining health on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville.

Marion was born in Lowell, MA on April 6, 1924, to William and Edith (McKinnon) Pickles.  She graduated from Chelmsford (MA) High School, Class of 1941 and attended secretarial school in Boston.  On July 1, 1945, she married J. Alden Wilcox.

Marion served as the church clerk for both the Central Baptist Church in Chelmsford and the South Chelmsford Baptist Church.  She also worked as the secretary for Dr. Jack Farnam in Chelmsford.

She was very active in church activities and the town social gatherings and enjoyed entertaining with her friends.  In 2008, she and her husband moved to Woodsville to be closer to family.

She was predeceased by a cousin, Mary Smith.

Marion is survived by her husband of 71 years, J. Alden Wilcox of Woodsville; a son, Donny E. Wilcox of Chelsea, VT and wife Islene Runningdeer of Barre, VT; two grandsons, Russell M. Wilcox and wife Jennifer of Woodsville and Kenneth D. Wilcox of Florida; a great granddaughter Dylan K. Wilcox of Woodsville; and several cousins.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, August 2 from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, August 3 at 11 AM in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
