Landaff, NH- Marvin Jasper Webster, 75, of Pearl Lake Road, died at his home on Friday, December 8, 2017.
Marvin was born in Lisbon, NH, on October 15, 1942, to Jasper and Eveline (Laleme) Webster. While growing up, his family moved 26 times between New Hampshire and Vermont. When he was young, he worked with his father and brother in the woods. He also worked at White's Market in St. Johnsbury, VT, a sawmill in Newbury, VT, Jesseman's Garage in 1964 in Lisbon, and then for Ruth Dexter. Ruth sent him to the Ford Motor Mechanic School. He joined his parents in 1965 at the Chevron Station before they built the new garage in 1971. Marvin had his own wrecker and ran Webster's Garage in Lisbon until his retirement in 2007. For Marvin, his customers always came first.
From 1962 through 1969, he served in the National Guard.
Marvin was a trustee of the Shared Ministry in Lisbon and was a member of the Mt. Hope Grange in Landaff. He enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors and was a generous, caring, honest person. As a family man, he loved watching and caring for everyone. He loved riding the back roads of New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. A NASCAR fan, he enjoyed going to Loudon. Marvin spent time putting up his wood for the winter and taking an hour long walk each day, with his wife Sue. His passion was working on cars, especially Ford's.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan (Butson) Webster, of Landaff, to whom he was married on May 24, 1970; a daughter, Sharie Andross and husband Tom of Lisbon; a son Jeffrey Webster and Leta Rainville of Lisbon; along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Dalton Webster, on September 3, 2017.
