Woodsville, NH Mary Margaret Fortier, 93, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville surrounded by her family. She was born in Wardsboro, VT, April 24, 1921, the daughter of Harmidas Joseph and Florence May (Edwards) Benoit. She graduated from high school in Wardsboro, VT. Mary was a nurse s aide at the Fords Nursing Home in Haverhill for over 20 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post # 5245 in North Haverhill, NH. She loved watching birds. Mary loved having her family around, spending time with her children and grandchildren was very special to her. She loved attending the senior meal sites around the area, including Horse Meadow, West Barnet, and South Ryegate. She was predeceased by her two husbands, David Harold Paye in December 3, 1970 and William Fortier, Sr. in February 12, 1980; her two sons, Rodney D. Paye on April 13, 2006 and John E. Paye on October 15, 2013; a great granddaughter, Jasmine Paye on July 20, 2013; five sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include her four sons, Richard E. Paye of Denver, CO, Wilfred J. Paye of South Ryegate, VT, Delmar J. Paye of Claremont, NH, and Wayne B. Paye of Newbury, VT; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Saturday, June 21, at 12:30 PM at the West Newbury Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Dwight White officiating.
