It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Mary Jane "Jan" Keenan, 86, of Monroe, NH.   She passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 21, 2022, surrounded by family.

Jan was born and raised in Detroit, MI to William J. and Lenore M. Hazell.  She joined the Air Force at 23, where she met the love of her life Michael H. Keenan.  They were happily married for 55 years.

Jan was an Operating Room Nurse for over 30 years and loved caring for others. A highlight of her career was getting to be on the team that performed the first open heart surgery at Marquette General Hospital.  Upon retiring, Mike and Jan bought an RV and traveled throughout much of the South.  In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, creating special works of love for her family, friends and many others.

Jan lost Mike in 2015, and their youngest daughter Patty in 2001.  She is survived by two daughters, Suzie Patton and husband Jeff of Poquoson, VA, and Robin Gibson and husband Randy of Monroe, NH; a son, Mike Keenan and his wife Kelly of Michigan; seven wonderful grandchildren, Brianna, Ryan, Korey, Dustin, Kyle, Ashlee, and Madison, and five "Great"- grandchildren, Shaylee, McKenna, Alaena, Hunter, and Quinton, whom she loved to the end.

Mom, nana, gg-nana will be dearly missed by all.  We celebrate her love and her life.

Please join us in a celebration of her life on Friday May 27, 2022 at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch St. Woodsville, NH, at 5 PM, preceded by an hour of visitation from 4 to 5 PM.  Interment will be held privately at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be interred beside her husband, Michael.
