North Haverhill, NH -- Mary Martinez Levasseur, 80, died April 13, 2008 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. She was born in Park View (Los Ohos) , Rio Arriba County, NM July 27, 1927, a daughter of Joseph and Cleotilda (Quintana) Martinez. Following graduation from Tia Maria High School in New Mexico, she completed nurses training in Denver, CO. For 17 years she lived in East Hartford and Granby, CT before moving to Woodsville with her son Bruce in 1971. For many years Mary was a Licensed Practical Nurse working at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill. Her working career also included The Travelers & Holly Hill Nursing Home in CT and Burndy s and Landie Meat Packing in Woodsville. She attended St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Woodsville. Survivors include four sons Richard Levasseur of Worcester, MA, Wayne Levasseur and wife Susan of South Windsor, CT, Corey Levasseur and wife Maggie of Andover, CT, and Bruce Levasseur of Springfield, MA; five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Joseph, Katherine, and William, a brother Ross Martinez of Clearfield, UT. She was predeceased by a sister Beatrice Burd, and two brothers Philip Martinez of New Mexico and Mel Martinez of Utah. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, April 18, at 1 PM, at St. Joseph s Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, NH, with Father Daniel J. Sinibaldi officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Woodsville, will be at a later date.
