Obituary

Bath, NH – Maryellen (Camp) LeBaron, of Bath, NH, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023. Maryellen was born in Barre, VT, the daughter of William and Madeline (Phillips) Camp, on August 16, 1960. She was a 1978 graduate of U32 High School in the Barre-Montpelier area. She began working at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin, VT, while attending high school. She attended the University of Vermont before deciding to get her LPN degree, which she earned at Thompson School for Practical Nurses in Brattleboro.

She was married to Todd LeBaron, originally of Woodstock, VT, on September 12, 1981, and the couple spent their honeymoon at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida. The couple had moved to Wilder, VT, as she took a nursing position at the original Dartmouth Hitchcock location in Hanover. A year later, they relocated to Gainesville, FL, and she began work at Shands Teaching Hospital at the University of Florida. They lived in Gainesville until 1987 when they returned to Vermont, and she went back to Dartmouth temporarily. They resided in Montpelier when she returned to Central Vermont Hospital from 1987 until 1991. A new position came up at Grafton County Nursing Home and they moved to Littleton, where they lived for 24 years. Over that time, she worked at several other facilities including Pleasantview in Concord, Lafayette in Franconia, and eight years at St. Johnsbury Health & Rehabilitation. She worked in St. Johnsbury as a third shift charge nurse until a back injury, which resulted in her being disabled.

Maryellen was an avid Disney aficionado which meant many return visits to the Orlando area over the years. She was a common-sense type of nurse and an advocate for her patients and their families. She was an outstanding cook, and a cat lover. The LeBaron's loved to travel, with many visits to Maine, Canada, and Florida over the years. She loved the ocean and found peace watching the waves whenever they visited Maine, most often Old Orchard Beach and the Portland area.

Maryellen was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1990, and over the years she was a member of the Montpelier, Concord, Lancaster, and Woodsville congregations.

The LeBaron's had no children. Maryellen leaves behind her husband Todd, her aunt, Betty Duff of Barre, VT; two nephews, Matthew and Peter Camp, and a niece, Emily, along with their spouses and children.

She is predeceased by her parents, William and Madeline Camp, and her brother William Camp, Jr.

A remembrance is being planned, and details are pending.
