Matthew Scott Aldrich, 52, of North Haverhill, NH, died Friday, July 3, 2026. He was born on October 2, 1973, in Hanover, New Hampshire, the youngest child and only son of Jo Ann (Girouard) Aldrich and Ronald Aldrich.
He was a man of many trades and spent the majority of his early adulthood in Colorado where he worked in the oil fields among other jobs before moving back to the east coast, eventually purchasing the home he grew up in. Owning his own property, as well as spending time sprucing it up, was a sense of pride for him. He could often be found tooling around outside on his John Deere tractor or relaxing next to a campfire. The greatest joy of his life, though, was his son Michael who he was incredibly proud of, especially after joining the United States Air Force. He was a quiet family man, willing to lend a hand, an ear, or the occasional candid sarcasm - always with a smirk.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents Alice and Donald Girouard. Survivors include his partner, Michelle Shufelt, of North Haverhill, NH; mother, Jo Ann Aldrich of Inverness, FL; father Ronald Aldrich of Woodsville, NH; sister Shawna Spear of West Newbury, VT; sister Tanya Moulton of Groton, VT; son, Michael Aldrich, stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Emily Jamiez of Fort Pierce, FL; stepson Gage Shufelt of Ashville, NC, nieces, Amanda and Bailee, and nephew, Lucas. Calling hours will be Thursday July 9, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Ricker Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
