Michael P. Thompson, 58, Wells River, died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, on Sunday September 29, 2024, after a period of failing health.  He was born in Waterbury, CT on March 17, 1966 to Richard and June (Finkle) Thompson.He grew up in Thomaston, CT and graduated from Thomaston High School.  In Connecticut he worked as an arborist and later as an auto mechanic before moving to Wells River in 2000 with Barbara Venezia, whom he married in their shared home on October 19, 2002.  He worked as an equipment operator for the town of Newbury Vermont for several years, retiring when his health no longer allowed him to work.
Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.  He raced late models at Lebanon Valley Speedway in NY when he was younger.  He was an avid snowmobiler and served at President of the Newbury Boarder Riders snowmachine club.Calling hours will be on Saturday October 5, 2024, from 10AM to Noon at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St. Woodsville, NH.
