Milton George Bedell Jr., 76, of Bradford, VT, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Born on May 10, 1948, in Hanover, NH, to Milton Bedell Sr. and Virginia (Boyce) Bedell, Milton was a lifelong resident of the Upper Valley. He graduated from Bradford Academy in 1966 and furthered his education at Vermont Technical College.
Milton dedicated his career to manufacturing, working in various factories throughout the region. He was a reliable and hardworking individual, committed to his craft.
Beyond his work, Milton's passions were deeply rooted in sports and the outdoors. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, rarely missing a game. He found immense joy in watching his nieces and nephews participate in their own sporting endeavors, always offering enthusiastic support from the sidelines.
An avid outdoorsman, Milton enjoyed hunting and fishing, finding solace and connection with nature. His love for golf was particularly profound. He was a skilled golfer, having played nearly every course in Vermont and New Hampshire. He even ventured to Myrtle Beach to test his skills on the world-famous courses there. Milton was a proud member of both the Bradford Golf Course and the Lake Morey Golf Course, where he spent many enjoyable hours perfecting his swing and sharing camaraderie with fellow golfers.
Milton was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law, George Metcalf. He is survived by his loving sister, Shureen Metcalf of North Haverhill; his nephew, Kip Gendron and his wife Dawn of Newbury, VT; his nieces, Babette Agatston and her husband David of CO, and Shelly Binford and her husband David of North Haverhill; eight grand-nieces and nephews; seven great grand-nieces and nephews; three cousins; and many close friends.
A graveside service to honor Milton's life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the East Corinth Cemetery, 8 Tillotson Ln, East Corinth, VT 05040.
Milton will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his unwavering support of his family, and his passion for the sports and activities he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers from North Country Home Health and Hospice and all those who came to visit and helped care for Milton.
