Groton , VT- Milton Frank Lamberton, 84, died on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Milt was born in Barnet, VT, on October 21, 1933, to Frank and Freda (Peck) Lamberton. He attended schools in Plainfield, Groton, and Marshfield and graduated from Burdett College in 1957 with an Associate Degree in Business. He joined the US Air Force in 1951 and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He was an insurance adjuster and was in partnership with Bianchi-Lamberton Asphalt Company.
He married Juelle Eastman on April 11, 1959. They made their home in Millis, MA from 1961-1988 and retired to their home on Lake Groton. They had 2 children, Gary Frank Lamberton and Lisa Juelle Lamberton.
Milt was president of the Boggestowe Fish and Game Club in Millis for many years. He became a 32nd Degree Mason with The Charles River Lodge in Medway, MA and was a shriner with the Aleppo Temple in Boston and transferred to the Wyoming Masonic Lodge in Plainfield, VT and the Mt. Sinai Shrine Temple in Montpelier, VT.
Milt was a member of the Groton United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was president of the Lake Groton Association for 20 years, constable for the Town of Groton for 25 years, a life member of the Barre Canadian Club, president of the Buckaroos of 302 Snowmobile Club in Groton, and vice president for the Groton Community Club. Along with two close friends, he built a camp in Averill, VT and enjoyed many years of snowmobiling.
He and Juelle made many trips to Florida and made two cross-county trips. He loved golf and was a member of Glen Ellen Country Club and the Montpelier Elks Club.
He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Faustina Jones and her two children; his sister, Roberta Ibey and her husband Larry and their two boys, Tom and Darin; and his sister-in-law, Rosemary Lamberton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Juelle; his son, Gary and wife Kathleen and their son Taylor and daughter Lauren; his daughter, Lisa Hart and husband Steve and 2 daughters Emilee and Ellyn; his brother, Weldon and wife Anita; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1 PM at the Groton United Methodist Church, Scott Highway, Groton.
