Muriel Jeannine (Lamontagne) L'Etoile, 84, of Pike, NH, passed away at home after a long illness, with her family near at hand, on Monday, September 4, 2023. She was born on June 14, 1939, in Woonsocket, RI, to her parents Jeannette (Bonneau) and Omer Lamontagne.

She grew up in Rhode Island alongside her brother, Roger, and sister, Claire. She graduated from St. Clare High School, alumnus of the class of 1957. She worked as a librarian at the Woonsocket Library.  Muriel also worked at Transcom in Middletown, RI to help support the college education of her three children.  Along with her husband Gus, she was a 20-year volunteer at The American-Canadian Genealogical Society in Manchester, NH.

Muriel married Augustin "Gus" L'Etoile on June 10, 1961 at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, in Woonsocket, RI, and together they had three children, Monique, Paul, and Denise.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, especially sewing and knitting. She would use her knitting skills to make blankets and infant clothing that she donated to the local senior center to give to newborns and their families. She also loved kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Muriel loved a good non-fiction 'classic' book to read. She also had a green thumb, which showed in her gardens during the summer, and inside her home all year round.  She loved music, attending concerts, and was a talented pianist and organist.

She has been predeceased by her parents, Jeannette and Omer Lamontagne.

Muriel's memory will be cherished by her husband of 62 years, Gus L'Etoile; her daughter, Monique M. L'Etoile and partner Mark Rasavage of Gaithersburg, MD; her son Paul A. and his wife Dr. Nicole L'Etoile of Saunderstown, RI; her daughter, Denise L. and her husband William Warner of Little Compton, RI; her grandchildren, Dr. Kirsten Russo, Kyle Leaberry, Jeannette Leaberry, Taylor Wine and Abbey Warner; her brother, Roger Lamontagne and wife Simone of North Smithfield, RI; and her sister, Claire Lamontagne of Woonsocket, RI.
