Obituary

Groton, VT Nicholas John Nick Bogie, 26, of Mountain View Drive, died on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, following injuries sustained in a work-related accident in South Ryegate, VT on Tuesday, March 29th. He was born in Berlin, VT, on August 15, 1984, the son of Clark S. Chief and Patrice (Gray) Bogie. Nick graduated from Blue Mountain Union School, class of 2002. On December 6, 2008, he married Carrie Daniels. During his high school years, he played all four years of soccer and basketball for the Blue Mountain Bucks. While in high school he worked during the summers for Nick McClure. After graduation, he worked for two years with Paragon Construction in Orford, NH. In 2004, he began working with his father as an equipment operator for Chief Logging and Construction, Inc. He has always enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, tractor pulling, ice fishing, and he especially enjoyed sugaring season. Each fall Nick attended the Bird Fest in Ryegate. He had a special place in his heart, loved and adored his son Brayden and wife Carrie, whom he thought was perfect. He also appreciated the time spent with the boys , his nieces, nephews, parents, grandparents, family and friends. Nick s family chose organ donation so Nick s gift of life would continue. Two young children have already received liver donations from this gift. Survivors include his wife, Carrie (Daniels) Bogie of Groton; a son, Brayden Gilman Bogie of Groton; his parents, Clark Chief and Patrice Bogie of Ryegate; his three brothers, Jeremy Bogie and his wife Amanda of South Ryegate, Eric Bogie and fianc ` Michelle Laferriere of Burke, VT, and Mark Bogie and wife Michelle of South Ryegate; maternal grandparents, John and Lona (Gandin) Gray of Ryegate Corner; paternal grandparents, Calvin and Audrey (Cassady) Bogie of Barnet, VT; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and his dog Brownie . Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 3, from 2 to 5 PM, at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Monday, April 4, at 6 PM at the Blue Mountain Union School, 2420 Route 302, Wells River, VT with Pastor Jim Lake of the Bible Baptist Church in Berlin, VT officiating, along with Dan and Josh Frost. Burial will be in the spring at the Groton Village Cemetery. Anyone wishing to leave Nick a goodbye message is welcome to call his cell phone as he will be taking this with him.
