South Ryegate, VT- Norman Edward Boardman, Sr., 78, of Church Street, died at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, September 19, 2016.
Norman was born in Orford, NH, on September 30, 1937, to Arthur and Bertha (Boardman) Boardman. He married Nancy Peake on June 15, 1963.
Norman worked for thirty years as a quarryman for Rock of Ages in Barre, VT. Then he was employed as a tree cutter for Vance Tree Service for twenty years until his retirement.
Norman was baptized at the age of 15 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He attended the Woodsville, NH congregation of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for 46 years. He enjoyed going to Gray's auctions and trading, along with deep sea fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Boardman of South Ryegate; six children, Norman Boardman, Jr. and wife Tammy of Danville, VT, Carman Boardman and wife Jody of Port Royal, SC, Anita Boardman of Woodsville, NH, Roxann Finney and husband John of Newmarket, NB, Canada, Amy Baker and husband Lee of Woodsville, and Aaron Boardman and wife Honey of Springfield, MA; nine grandchildren, Kelly Lique, Brian Boardman, Samantha Smith, Natashia Baker, Jared Baker, Brandon Boardman, Hannah Finney, Emma Finney, and Brianna Boardman; three great grandchildren, Ali, Roran, and Sheldon Lique and Jackson and Brantley Boardman; two sisters, Sylvia Waller of Phoenix, AZ and Goldie Carrol of Tennessee; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Fay Rankl.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, September 24, at 2 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 431 Rum Hill Road, Bath, NH.
Burial will be in the Orford Street Cemetery, Orford, NH.
