Groton, VT- Norman Frank "Bud" Whitehill, Sr. 75, of Powder Spring Road, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at his home. Bud was born in Groton, VT on May 8, 1940, to Ernest F. and Florence (Hovey) Whitehill. He worked for 10 years for Granite Importers in Barre, VT. He married Linda Cushing on April 30, 1993. Bud was in his glory when he was farming and taking care of his animals. He loved tinkering on old antique tractors. He loved his dog companion, Ginger. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara (Hart) Whitehill and their two infant daughters; as well as by two brothers, Bruce and Austin Whitehill. Bud is survived by his wife of 22 years, Linda Whitehill of Groton; three daughters, Mona Cote of Groton, Eileen "Midge" Reid and husband Robert of Groton, and Brenda Herb and husband Raymond of Holland, VT; a son, Norman Frank "Bud" Whitehill, Jr. and wife Autum of Rochester, NH; two step daughters, Tracy Puffer and husband Matthew of Groton and Julie Chase of Bradford, VT; a step son, Peter Emerson and wife Nicole of Bradford, VT; seven grandchildren, Felicia Cote, Nicole Batchelder, Erin Darling, Lance Morse, Tari Morse, Brandon Whitehill, and Jenna Whitehill; six step grandchildren, Amber Chase, Emily Chase, Ashley Chase, Mark Puffer, Jon Puffer, and Kyle Emerson; several great children; three sisters, Mildred "Millie" Richardson of Cornish, VT, Viola Noyes of Peacham, VT, and Evelyn Shields of Groton; two special sisters-in-law, Doreen Delano of Newbury, VT and Patricia Carl of Prescott, AZ; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Sunday, May 24th at 1 PM at the Groton Town Hall, Groton, VT.
