Obituary

North Haverhill, NH- Patricia Marie Pat Demers, 81, of Dartmouth College Highway, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH. Pat was born on January 4, 1934, in Boston, MA to Daniel J. and Marie L. (Gallant) Florentine. She was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School, Class of 1951. She was married to Norman W. Demers on April 27, 1952. For many years Pat worked as a paraeducator at Woodsville High School. She also volunteered at the Horse Meadow Senior Center. She was a Communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodsville where she was also a member of the Women s Club, taught catechism, and was in charge of the turkey dinners. In her younger years, Pat was a competitive roller skater. She was always involved in her children s sporting activities. Pat was predeceased by her husband, Norman W. Demers on March 2, 1990; their daughter, Michelle Marie Mitch Demers on June 17, 2014; her brother Gerard Gerry Florentine on November 13, 2012, and a step brother, Clyde Jordan. She is survived by six daughters, Susan A. Marquise and husband Greg of St. Petersburg, FL, Robin E. Plourde and husband Bill of Allenstown, NH, Maryanne Mazie Middleton and husband Chip of Dunedin, FL, Regina M. Pulsifer of Plymouth, NH, Patricia H. Mure and husband Tony of Holderness, NH, Bernadette M. Demers and husband Tim McGonagle of Austin, TX; two sons, Norman R. Demers and wife Leslie of Charlestown, RI and Daniel J. Demers and wife Maureen of Carver, MA; 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren, Dustin, Derek, Damien, Kalleen, Austin, Arin, Jillian, Dana, Alex, Kevin, Scott, Ryan, Mark, Catherine, Amanda, Kirsten, Aiden, Keeli, Kaleb, Tristan, Gabe, Matthew, Madelyn, Makinley, Adrian,Liliana, Maradyth, Caroline, Ella, and Maisy; a sister Marianne Jordan and husband Arnold of Okatie, SC; a brother, Daniel Florentine and wife Mary of South Ryegate, VT; and two step brothers, Trenholm Jordan and wife Mary of New York and Gerald Jordan and wife Betty of Accokeek, MD; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 14 from 6-8 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 15 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Bath, NH.
